Hello Ravenswood Rams and World Community!
Everything that has ever happened or will happen is a story. Whether it is fiction or non-fiction, in drama we explore stories from every possible perspective. In any given story, a class can become the main character , supporting characters, author, even the affected audience. In drama we ask questions, engage in research, envision and enact outcomes, then start the whole process over again, just to learn from it. In a nutshell, drama is learning from the process. In specific terms, drama comes from the Greek word, δρᾶμα, or “drama,” meaning “to do” or “to act.” In learning through drama, we learn through acting, but more importantly, we learn through doing.

Mary Poppins Jr. Auditions Update
Dear Parents and Community Members,
I am excited to share the wonderful results of our auditions for Mary Poppins Jr.! Nearly 50 students in grades 4 through 8 stepped onto the stage to showcase their creativity, courage, and talent, making the process a truly joyful experience.
Watching our students bring their enthusiasm to auditions was inspiring. The energy in the room was incredible as students supported one another, worked collaboratively, and demonstrated their love for performing arts. I could not be more proud of their effort and dedication.
With so much talent to consider, casting decisions were both rewarding and challenging. While some students may not have received the role they hoped for, every performer brought something unique and valuable to the process. Casting is about building a strong ensemble and fitting everyone into the puzzle of the show.
For those who didn’t receive the role they envisioned, I encourage them to use this as an opportunity to grow, explore, and try again in the future. Each student contributed something wonderful to these auditions, and I hope they all feel proud of what they accomplished.
I am thrilled about the incredible group we have assembled for this production. I know this will be an exciting and enriching experience for everyone involved, and I look forward to showcasing the hard work and talent of our students.
Thank you for your continued support of the performing arts at Ravenswood. Together, we are building something truly special!
With excitement,
Mr. Guidry
